Hamilton, Bermuda

Hello Bermudaful! Rum swizzles and Dark N Stormys greet us as we land in Hamilton on the tiny but very colorful British island off the eastern US coast.

Chamonix, France

The resort town of Chamonix-Mont Blanc nestled into south-eastern France was the site of the first Winter Olympics in 1924. The pedestrian only winter resort town maintains its original charm and ski-mountain culture.

Bossons Glacier, French Alps

A zig-zag hike straight up the mountain from forest to rocks as we gain altitude with view of the Bossons and Taconnaz Glaciers.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Time for whiskey! Tracing history of the spirit, finding J.K. Rowling’s inspiration for Harry Potter, hiking Arthur’s Seat, meandering Old Town, Palace of Hollyroodhouse and the 11th century Edinburgh Castle.

Kauai, Hawai'i

A visit to "The Garden Isle" takes us around this lush tropical island from the surfside Hanalei Bay and the Nā Pali Coast to the towns of Kapa’a and Lihue with stops at the Kilauea lighthouse and Moloa’a Beach.

O'ahu, Hawai'i

O'ahu, a.k.a. "The Gathering Place" hosts the state capital in Honolulu, the Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona Memorial, the Dole Plantation and pineapple fields, Diamond Head crater, and iconic beaches and surfing on the North Shore.

Montreux, Switzerland

The resort town of Montreux follows the Lac Léman shoreline with Belle Époque buildings, a beautiful promenade and paddle steamers. Our home base for a week due to its easy access to the train, relaxed atmosphere and picturesque lake views.

Rochers de Naye, Switzerland

A journey up the rocks from Montreux in a cogwheel train takes you to the beautiful Rochers de Naye mountain with an elevation of 6,699 feet. Take in the beautiful vistas of the Swiss and French Alps, the lake and meet some high altitude marmots.

Schilthorn, Switzerland

Travel through Mürren and up cable cars to the Schilthorn summit at 9,744 feet. The 360 degree panorama of the Swiss skyline is viewed from the Piz Gloria, the filming site for the 1969 James Bond movie, On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) operates the largest particle physics lab in the world. The Large Hadron Collider is used to perform high-energy physics research including the Big Bang Theory to understanding how the universe works.

San Francisco, California

A visit to see the 'City by the Bay', this time with the added bonus of sailing the bay and seeing Alcatraz Island, Sausalito and Tiburon up close.

Bermuda Beaches!

Rum swizzles join us for lounging on the famous pink sand beaches and turquoise waters of Bermuda - from Horseshoe Bay, Turtle Bay and Elbow Beach.

Lac Blanc, French Alps

A hike up the mountainside via ladders, cliff walks and steps to see Lac Blanc and a panorama of the Mont Blanc Massif. Mountain goats and rock scramble included.

Mer de Glace, France

An easy hike from Chamonix to Mer de Glace, the Sea of Ice, to see the quickly disappearing glacier. Steps down from the valley to the glacier show the amount of melting and receding of the ice over the decades.

Scottish Highlands

Visits to see Scottish castles and the beautiful landscape that separates them: Stirling, Doune, and Inveraray Castles. Required stops for sheep, hairy Highland cattle, and picturesque lochs, and glens.

Kauai, Hawai'i - By Helicopter

To see the dramatic Nā Pali Coast, Manawaiopuna Falls (the Jurassic Park waterfall), Waimea Canyon (Grand Canyon of the Pacific), Mount Waialeale (wettest spot on Earth) requires a view from the top.

Lac Léman, Switzerland

We on a boat! Come aboard the diesel-electric paddle wheel M/S Italie built in 1908 and the paddle steamer M/S La Suisse built in 1910. The Belle Époque still lives on Lake Geneva with this fleet classified as a national monument.

Evian, France

A quick stop in the small spa town of Evian-les-Bains which is known for its famous mineral water, Evian. Freely flowing out of the Source Cachat, we follow the water droplet markers through the 19th century streets to the find the most beautiful water fountain.

Lausanne, Switzerland

Located on Lac Léman and part of the Swiss Riveria, the train ride to Lausanne from Montreux provides up close views of the Lavaux vineyards. Lausanne hosts museums and world headquarters for Nestlé and the Olympics which were formed here in 1866 and 1894.

Grindelwald, Switzerland

While Grindelwald is most known for Swiss hiking and skiing, it is the location to be among friendly cows. Cow bells do not stop at night and it was the ultimate compliment to the bucolic life in this beautiful mountain village.

Gimmelwald, Switzerland

A relatively quick walk from Mürren, Gimmelwald is a small village not accessible by car with a population of less than 200. We walk down the steep hillside and encounter sheep, ponies and more cows in this village above Lauterbrunnen Valley.

Lake Louise, Canadian Rockies

Our trip to the beautiful Lake Louise occurred during an 'extreme' cold weather snap. Wind chills at -37°F and air temps of -22°F didn't stop us from enjoying the never ending, perfect powder snow throughout Banff National Park.

St. George, Bermuda

Bermuda’s first English settlement is filled with Colonial buildings and history dating to 1612 with St. Peter’s Church and Fort St. Catherine. A sunset ferry takes us around the island and catch sailboat races.

Mont Blanc, French Alps

The highest point in Western Europe, Mont Blanc overlooks the Swiss, French and Italian Alps. We take two gondolas up to the Aiguille Du Midi, then a peaceful ride dangling above the Vallée Blanche to Pointe Helbronner overlooking Italy.

Geneva, Part Deux

Part Deux takes us back to Geneva and we visit the Jet d’Eau, the Patek Phillippe museum to see the most beautiful and expensive watches up close, Läderach chocolates and for swimming in Lac Léman..

St. Andrews, Scotland

A wandering drive from Edinburgh, over the Forth Bridges to the quaint fishing town of Anstruther to spend the day in St Andrews Old Town “the Home of Golf”, and a visit to the Village of Falkland.

Timber Cove, California

Leaving San Francisco to drive north up the scenic and windy Highway 1 to land in Timber Cove, a hideaway perched on a dramatic bluff overlooking the Pacific Coast in Sonoma County.

The Big Island of Hawai'i

Starting in the lava covered coast of Kailua-Kona, up the lush hills to coffee plantations, across prairie-like fields to Mauna Kea and the tropical forests of Hilo on the east, ending with the Kīlauea volcano in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park.

Matterhorn & Zermatt, Switzerland

The famous pyramid shaped rugged rock of the Matterhorn is one of the tallest mountains in Switzerland with an elevation of 14,692 feet. We take a day trip from Montreux to see the peak and wander through the pedestrian only town of Zermatt on a cloudless day.

Gruyère & Broc, Switzerland

A visit to see the Cailler chocolate museum and factory to learn about the history of this Swiss chocolatier. Then a stop in Gruyère, the home of the famous cheese! A factory tour complete with cheese tastings and a new appreciation for Swiss milk.

Jungfrau, Switzerland

A trip up 11,333 feet to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jungfrau Top of Europe gives outstanding views of the Swiss, French and Italian Alps. Complete with a hike across the Aletsch Glacier, Europe's longest glacier.

Geneva, Switzerland

The city famous for centuries of watch making, chocolate and banking sits along the Rhône River and Lac Léman. We walk along the public fountains, gardens and 19th century streets between old town and new quarters that make this city romantic and beautiful.

The turquoise waters and soft sand of south Florida - from glitzy Palm Beach to Juno Beach, the intercostal waterways through Jupiter, Singer and Peanut Islands. “We need a bigger boat!”
